Not so long ago people would cure their small medical issues through using natural home remedies. In fact, most common diseases can be cured using herbs and spices and in recent years there is a growing interest in the return to natural remedies.

Syrups & Juices

Elderberry Syrup

Known to ward off the flu and viruses, this plant has been used for decades for its antioxidant properties that help lower cholesterol, improve vision, improve heart health, boost the immune system and as a treatment for coughs, flu, bacterial and viral infections, colds and tonsillitis.

Interestingly enough, in the Oncology Lab in the Hadassah Hospital in Israel, the elderberry was discovered to stimulate the immune system and is therefore used with cancer and AIDS patients!

Cola Syrup

Fig Syrup

High in fiber, calcium, potassium and magnesium, fig syrup is an excellent replacement for natural sweeteners and does wonders for the body- they help lower high blood pressure, protect against postmenopausal breast cancer, promote bone-density, and much, much more.

Black Cherry Juice

Mostly used to treat arthritis and gout, Black Cherry Juice is known to prevent high blood pressure, prevent obesity, have anti-cancer effects and anti-inflammatory effects. Some also say that it can fight exercise-induced muscle damage.

Coriander

Used to relive headaches, coriander is a carminative and also check diarrhea if taken with curdled milk.

Cumin Seed

Ginger

Well known for helping digestion, ginger also increases appetite and reduces flatulence. It is also known to be very beneficial in easing disorders connected with the formation of phlegm. It is also quite well-known as offering relief from colds and coughs.

Turmeric

This is a herb that is well-known for its medicinal properties. Used to eliminate a number of health problems, St. John’s Wort is primarily used to treat wounds, stomach cramps, liver, kidney, bladder and mucus in the lungs. It is also known to have a favorable effect on the blood.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is another favorite natural remedy and the gel found in the leaves of the plant is used extensively due to it being rich in fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. It is used to combat constipation, inflammation, infections and diabetes, to name just a few.

Lavender

Lavender is known for its antiseptic properties as well as for being a sedative, aiding digestion and promoting bile evacuation.
